“Going Green" original painting by Kasey Wanford
Going Green is an original abstract painting by Kasey Wanford. Expressive and gestural, this painting is a mix of acrylics and alcohol inks on a yupo paper surface, then securely mounted on a 3/4" deep cradled wood panel to make it ready to hang either as is, or it may be purchased framed.
Acrylic on yupo, mounted to wood.
Yupo paper is a synthetic substrate made of 100% polypropylene. It is non-absorbent, so water media paints like fluid acrylics spread on the surface in interesting ways before they dry. I enjoy working on yupo! Once the underlayer is dry, I use acrylic markers and heavier body acrylic paints to form a composition that responds to the pathways made by the fluid paints.
