Popular series V2
The lines in these paintings recede into the background, hidden behind a translucent layer of yupo, while colorful puddles of color collide on top. I like contrasts, and the black and white geometric lines vs. the organic color is interesting to me. The yupo paper is plastic, and looks a lot like vellum. It is mounted on clear spacers to allow the painted stripes behind to appear distant or close in areas.
I named this series “Popular” because it’s the closest I’ve ever come to making pop art.
11x14 inches alcohol ink on translucent yupo, relief mounted on a striped, acrylic painted wood panel and framed. The surface is sealed with a UV resistant topcoat.
Dimensions with frame: 15"x12"x2"
